3. 1966 New Mexico and Carlsbad Caverns also Devil's Den (near Tishimingo, OK)
4. 1973 My first trip to California and seeing an ocean.
5. 1973 Dad pulled a trailer to BYU to move me home after graduation.
6. 1977 Ben I went to Hawaii.
7. Dad's trip to see us by car stopping off at the Grand Canyon and London Bridge.
8. 1982 Washington DC (for Mona's wedding)
9. 1984 Went to Yellowstone National Park
10. 1989 To Tennesse for Susan's Wedding. Seeing Great Smoky Mountains with Mom and my family (best part Cades'Cove)

I remember that trip to New Mexico in 1966. I celebrated my 11th birthday at Uncle Elbert and Aunt Ruth's. I remember Daddy gave me a birthday spanking and I cried. I thought I was too big for birthday spankings.
The thing I remember most about that trip to New Mexico in '66 was the trip up to the ski lodge. I remember there was a stream or creek or river that was running crystal clear water and I wanted to go wading in it. You wouldn't let me and told me "no". When we got back into the car, something was said about it and Dad told you that you should have let me go wading. I thought "Wow, Dad's on my side." But then he said, "If he's stupid enough to go wading in that cold water, you should have let him." Ouch - That hurt!
